Geez, my less than 2 year old Galaxy Active 2 Watch needed to be sent in for service because it wasn't turning on after swimming with my 5 year old. Corroded inside. Quoted $433 to repair. Supposed to be resistant up to 1 meter and I'm a frolicker not a diver. It always had a thick protective case on it and wouldn't have been exposed to heat. Seems like a hardware failure to me. Not paying that repair bill and don't even want to pay the $55 to get it back. And the live agent I was speaking to after the quote hung up on me when I asked for a feedback form. Great customer care and service. Apple Watch and iPhone here I come I guess.

How can a repair be twice the price of buying a new one

If you swim in salt water a lot or don't use the eject water feature, then moisture can linger inside and lead to significant corrosion.

Same thing with just happened to me. What a joke. Don't buy this watch. I've tried getting help through Samsung support and they have no interest in helping. Won't be buying any Samsung products again.
