What S/M or M/L in Galaxy Watch strap mean?

What's S/M or M/L in Galaxy Watch strap mean?

I'm currently having Galaxy Watch 4 46mm, with strap 20mm M/L. 

I want to purchase the substitute strap, but will it be fit if I purchase the 20mm S/M strap?

Since the M/L doesn't have the model that I want, only S/M.

I think S/M M/L is talking about the length of the strap. S/M is shorter than the M/L

Don't worry, both of them can be attached to your watch, since both of them has 20mm in width.
