Photography is more subjective than anything because all hardware on flagship phones are capable of shooting nice pictures nowadays. It will depend on if you prefer more or less contrast, colder or warmer tones and etc.
But for sure, the new iphone cannot beat the S23 Ultra in zoom capabilities because they only upgraded to 5x while the S23 Ultra still has 10x.
But hardware is one thing. Software plays the bigger part in the post processing.
Apple is good in that because their chip is made in-house so they have more time to test and perfect it while android phones all use third party chips besides Google Pixels.
Well Samsung tried to use their own chip and we all know how that went 🤣
I personally prefer the more punchy, contrasty pics from Samsung.

Thank you so much for this detailed reply Deeezzyyy and I agree 100% with your comment.
Subjectivity is such an important factor in photography that even with the most powerful software and with blind tests, it's not the best phones with hardware that usually win people's heart...
Now regarding iOS Vs Android I also tend to prefer more the second one with it's vibrant colours.
I only wish that night photography would've be better with less noise...

That's true. Samsung still has ways to go.
I am honestly hoping that more brands can go global to push the competition to perform and optimize better.
Samsung is getting way too arrogant and lazy.
Most Chinese brands are way ahead but they're only available in China.

Amazing picture!🤩
Yours is sharper, but we don't know if one of you used a tripod and the other didn't. His photo is still very good. Other factors solely dependent on the photographer may also have influenced the results. The scientific method should be used to make an honest comparison.

Many thanks AxaCan. To be honest, this picture (the second one) was shot through a glass... in a zoo! No tripod was used and I barely used any filter to retouch it, rather than playing with sharpness and light.
Regarding Apple's shot on their website, they usually process it a lot even if they claim that it was "Shot on iPhone" 😅
