The FE has better specs, but costs much more. Both have non-removable plastic backs (boo, make them removable if you plan on using plastic you cheapskates!) and FHD displays. The FE has an SD865+, so it's more powerful, but you wouldn't feel the difference outside emulating and playing poorly optimized pay-2-win games.
Oh, and the FE has better cameras, and the display is 120Hz HDR10+ (HDR content required). Ignore the extra 5G support, there's no 5G network available yet in Canada. The A71 is 500$ cheaper but has a lot of similarities. The FE isn't worth 1100$. It's not equivalent in quality with the likes of the S10, S9/+ etc...
Both Galaxy A71 and S20 FE have Scratch-resistant glass (Corning Gorilla Glass 3), Ambient light sensor, Proximity sensor but in addition, S20 FE has a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR video support.
A71 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730. whereas S20 FE comes with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor which is based on 7nm technology both come with a 4500 mAh battery.
S20 FE comes with more color options as Cloud Navy, Cloud Red, Cloud Lavender, Cloud Mint, Cloud White, and Cloud Orange. Also, Super Smooth 120Hz, Space Zoom, Single Take.
S20 FE is based on the requirements and feedback from our customers and feedback.
However, They both have similarities and the devices are best at their places and it depends on the requirement of the customers.
