Message:

Hello,

I replaced the screen on my Galaxy A54 5G myself, using an official Samsung OEM display. Since then, I’m getting the message:
"Fingerprint sensor calibration needed"
and the fingerprint scanner no longer works.

Important details:

The fingerprint sensor was working perfectly before the screen replacement.

It was not damaged during the process.

I already tried clearing the cache partition, restarting the phone, and re-registering fingerprints — none of these worked.

I tried reaching out through Samsung’s live chat, but I haven’t been able to get proper assistance so far.

How can I recalibrate the fingerprint sensor?
Do I need to visit a service center, or is there another way to fix this?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Some things are better left to the experts. Replacing a screen that uses an ultrasonic Finger Print Sensor, yourself, is likely to be one of those things.

You'll probably need to visit a Samsung Service Centre to get it checked out by a tech.

Hi Yanderercat,

We are sorry to hear this issue from you and thank you for providing detailed information regarding the issue with your Galaxy A54 5G after replacing the screen.

Since you've already confirmed the sensor wasn't damaged, used an official part, tried wipe cache partition and re-registering fingerprints. It does suggest that fingerprint calibration is required, and unfortunately, this process can only be done at an authorized Samsung Service Center.

We recommend visiting your nearest Samsung Authorized Service Centre, where a technician can properly inspect and recalibrate the sensor for you. Please visit the link provided by RedDogRabbit to know the nearest Samsung Authorized service center.

Thank you.

There's some kind of software to calibrate it yourself. I did it way back in 2020 on my friend's a31 or a51. I don't remember the name of the software (free software ofc)
