I know that the phone isn't coming to the USA. It's probably the case in Canada too. Let's hope that I am wrong because I would like to get the phone too.

Sounds like the A55 will not be coming to North America through Samsung's channels. However, you most likely will be able to buy an out-of-market (e.g., South America) A55 on Amazon in a few weeks. No warranty, though.

A sales rep didn’t want to give me a release date, but he told me to register to get news from Samsung. Today, the A55 is released in the UK.
