why use Google when you have very intelligent Samsung members that are able to answer more in depth questions.

@JohnH - Maybe because learning how to fish is better than waiting for someone to give you a fish 😉🐧

Isn't googling just a longer process of someone giving you a fish? For that analogy to be correct wouldn't aymno need to actually figure this himself without the help of the internet?

Everything in your answers is extremely helpful for the community as you provide links to solutions and answer alot of questions. Just cut out the "Google it 😉🐧" part.

@JohnH @RichMan When I try to answer a question or help with something - I do in fact either answer the question directly or provide a link with more information, and what's wrong with suggesting that people search?
It's not as though I answer a question with "Google is your friend" Period.
I think that there's been more than a few who were getting frustrated with the constant "when /where's Oreo" posts....That had been asked & answered numerous times & a simple Samsung Community Search would have answered the question....
On more than one occasion I've used Google Search to help someone ELSE, where they have a question about a device or a problem that I'm not familiar with.... So yeah... Google is my friend too.

@JohnH @RichMan, I agree with @ShaggyskunkS8P, there's nothing wrong with suggesting that someone uses Google to find their answers, you mentioned that @ShaggyskunkS8P answers questions and post useful links, where do you think he gets those useful links from, I don't think he just pulls them out of his back pocket. I as well on more than one occasion have used Google search to find answers to help someone with their questions on here. I do believe that if more people would try using Google search, they would in most cases find their answers faster.

@JohnH, from your answer to @ShaggyskunkS8P, it sounds like your saying, let them post their questions and let others search for the answers for them.

Suggestion to people to use Google search is helping others, it's providing them with a tool to find their answers themselves and not always reply on others.

And as @ShaggyskunkS8P said, Google is my friend as well.

@Cprice @ShaggyskunkS8P most people use Google to answer questions. And most people do a Google search to find answers to their questions. That's pretty obvious and I'm not denying that fact. However I come from an Android community where there was a group of members who were kind of scummy, and would make people feel slightly stupid for asking questions. And made them feel they shouldn't be asking questions at all. Telling someone to Google something with a winky face after you answer their questions makes it seem like they wasted your time and should never have asked the question in the first place.

99% of questions here can all be answered with a Google search. That doesn't need to be said to everyone who wants some insight from fellow Samsung members.

@JohnH "Telling someone to Google something with a winky face after you answer their questions makes it seem like they wasted your time and should never have asked the question in the first place."

Not at all - Answering (or trying to) along with "Google is your friend 😉" is intended to accomplish two things - a) Provide an answer. b) Suggest that Searching before posting a question is always a good idea. If someone is taking the time to answer a question, then it's their choice to answer & since they decided to answer they didn't feel that it was a waste of their time.
I know that some Forums insist on people Searching before posting questions, and if they don't, then they are either ignored or told something like "don't be lazy" or "don't expect to be spoon fed".
By posting "Google is your friend 😉" is hardly telling anyone to do anything... it's just a gentle reminder that sometimes you can get the answer faster by searching, rather than waiting for someone else to help you.
I really fail to understand why anyone would take offence to this?
