I have an A15 phone with the latest update to the Android OS and noticed weird behavior. After a while of not using the phone, the phone will ask for my pattern password and does not want to read the finderprint scanner. Is there any reason why it does this? It's been happening for a couple of weeks now and I can find no pattern why it does this other than not using to phone for a while.

Another question I have is there any way to disable the fingerprint failed after 5 attempts security lock? It's annoying.

Your device asking for the pattern is normal & it's for enhanced security when the device has been unused for a period of time.

No, you can't disable the request for the pattern after a number of failed attempts with your finger print, again it is normal, to provide additional security.

Hi JaymzRG,

Yes, as RedDogRabbit mentioned, what you’re experiencing is completely normal and part of Android’s enhanced security. If your device hasn’t been used for a while, it will prompt for your pattern instead of allowing fingerprint unlock.

Also, the fingerprint lockout after several failed attempts can’t be disabled it’s a built-in security feature designed to protect your data.

Thanks for reaching out, and feel free to let us know if you have any more questions!
