I have installed security patch August 1 2019 and have noticed that without touching my phone it requires a PIN instead of my fingerprint and I have not touched the screen, and the phone was not powered off based on a app that was still running.

Does anyone know why this occurs?

I read their Privacy policy and it stated that biometrics info (fingerprint and your face) is stored locally on the phone. Well that's what they said, i'm not sure if they or you are right. And I agree, why ask for pin when it's stored locally?? The entire point of fingerprint is convinience and time saving, asking for a pin just after a few hours (in my case) kinda kills the point

edit: vocabulary mistake

came to this thread after being annoyed by this for well over a year and what really confuses me is this happens to me sometimes even if my phone's been locked for a couple minutes. a few minutes ago this happened to me and its not like ive had my phone locked for even 5 minutes

still happening to me also. still really annoyed by it. It would be very nice to have a fix by Samsung! 😑
