Hello, I took these 2 pictures* with my S25+ camera. One zoomed in just enough to change the camera used.

I'm not sure why the quality changes but you can see the difference in the distortion. Any tips on how to change this?

* About these paintings: (only read further if I terested in learning what these paintings represent) these paintings were painted by a church girl I know who is very talented in art. They cost me about 300$ each and took a few months to finish each one. Well worth it though I wish they were bigger. These paintings depict a lion, from the tribe of Judah. And Jesus Christ is depicted as the lion of Judah through out scripture.

Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior of the flat earth. They are important to me because 1: the second commandment condemns us from depicting actuall images of Christ (God) and worshiping them as idols. (Vein images) So for me, this is a representation of Christ, but not Christ. I had them painted in 2020 durring COVID, which gave her time to paint more often. I treasure these paintings. I have 2 one of witch was not posted because it wasn't relevant to the original request of my camera.

Jesus is Lord, God bless you all.

@reddograbbit can you give your opinion on the camera difference please, you have great knowledge of Samsung phones and maybe you could help in this case, thank you and God bless you brother (sorry if I assumed your gender I just figured you were a male)

The main camera is 50mp then when you zoom in till the point it will automatically switch to the telephoto 10mp camera. Which is lower quality image. Also lighting can be a factor in lower image quality.

You can also press and hold on the picture and then a box will appear with a brightness slider. You can make it brighter or darker. Or just just edit the photo.

Thanks. So it uses the lower camera when zooming in.

Yes. You have 12mp(ultrawide) 50mp(main) 10mp(telephoto)

Ok thanks again, this also applies when I am using video? Also, if I set the quality to 10mp will it still use the 50 MP camera? Or does that use the lower version? This was always a question I had no idea about.

I could always goodle these but it's nice to engage with community members and help keep this community active.

Yes. But you can use camera assistant to turn off auto len switching in the camera settings. Use the main camera for recording video for better quality footage.

Hi SeamusDelion,

Thank you for the clarification, You are indeed correct—when zooming into an image, the device initially utilizes the primary 50MP camera. However, upon reaching a certain zoom threshold, it automatically switches to the 10MP telephoto lens, which may result in a lower-quality image. Additionally, lighting conditions can significantly influence the overall image quality, particularly in low-light environments.

And also when you set your camera's quality to a lower megapixel setting, like 10MP, it still uses the same 50MP camera sensor but employs computational photography techniques to combine multiple pixels

Ahh. I did not know any of this. Half the reason I always go with the + version of the S series is because I'm not a huge photo taker. This year however, my friend has the ultra version S25 and the zoom in quality is amazing. 200 mp I believe. I never really messed with the camera set up so this is actually really good information to learn, thank you guys.
