Each time after shooting videos/ photos, when I clicked on the image preview, it  would open on the Samsung Gallery automatically. I prefer to preview the photos directly on Google Photos ( as the default app). I tried changing the default app on settings to no avail, anyone knows how to do this or Samsung doesn't allow it? TIA

You would have to use a different Camera app, ie: G-Cam in order to use a different photo viewer.

Samsung's Camera will not "see" a different Gallery app.

This is an image taken using G-Cam and I have a choice of what Gallery app to use for the preview.

I don't have Google Photos installed & I have disabled Samsung's Gallery app, which is why they don't appear as options.

Thanks, how do you disable Samsung Gallery app? Feels like it's an option

I'm looking to do the opposite. I want to uninstall Google Photos because some of my pictures are being sent there, while others are going to Samsung Galary. When I want to post a pic on Social media, it automatically defaults to Google Photos, and I can't post from Gallery where the pic I want to post is located. I've used my Samsung S20 FE to copy all of the pictures in the phones DCIM to my Windows 10 PC. Does that mean that I've copied all my photos from both Google and Gallery, and can I now uninstall Google Photos, and then copy my pics back to my phone, and they will all be located in Gallery? Any help that anyone can offer will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

If you have pretty much any Gallery app installed on your device, you can definitely uninstall Google photos, and you won't lose any.
