I thought it was just me but after a week or so I notice the following. Usually after my Note 10+ is powered on the first time unlock requires a password then face recognition or fingerprint can be used and same with the auto reset functions.

But I notice that after maybe 2 to 3 days when reaching for my phone to use it asks me to unlock it using a password. I'm pretty sure it happen when the previous update because I have deactivated the auto restart and restart my phone manually to make sure my alarm clocks go off.

Anyone else notice these password prompts? Without shutting off, restarting or lockdown mode on your device?

I also notice that thing. I did a wipe cache partition but it didn't help...Still working to find a issue
Be sure you have set the auto-restart to 1 day not each day

To find this, Device Care, the 3 dots/Advanced/Auto restart, click on it to schedule when you want your device to restart ...It's supposed to ask you the password only one a week

Its a security feature, when your phone has not been used for 24 hours or last reboot. This article from Samsung explains it here.

No, I rarely leave my phone for more than one night. And it's not rebooting either. It's just like, after every 20 fingerprints or so, it asks for pin. Regardless if I have been on and off my phone every 10 minutes, or have been leaving it over night. It's like the phone doesn't trust me after 20 fingerprints, and wants me to refresh my security. Stupid!! I should be the one opting for this, or not.

Your phone will ask you to enter your pin before you can use biometric features after some period without use, or from a restart.

The auto restart feature, just reboots your phone according to your set schedule, which counts as a restart. It is normal to enter your pin, before you enable biometrics.

Hi apparitor,

As mentioned by ctangabc, "Its a security feature, when your phone has not been used for 24 hours or last reboot"

Sometimes a second verification step (i.e. entering your PIN, password, or pattern) will be required in the following situations:

- When the phone is rebooted or restarted.

- If the phone has not been used for more than 24 hours.

Thanks ctangabc, for providing the information.

The prompt occurs even if you've been using the phone withing the last 24 hours.

I have a numerical password set up on my S9 as the phone starts up and also on the secure folder where I have important documents and pictures.
