These are my personal thoughts that I have experienced with the new One UI update.

Pros:

Battery Life - I've noticed a change in the battery life of my Note 9 ever since I updated to the new One UI.. and that change is that the battery life has improved. Now don't get me wrong the battery life has been nothing but impressive. But now it's even better. There are some days where I don't really use my phone.. just sits there.. before the update lets say the battery was at 98%.. it would drop about 10-14% by the end of the day with limited usage. Now it only drops about 3-6%.. that's impressive.

Design - I thought I wouldn't like it the change.. but I really do. Even the clock being moved to the far left is something I like.

Speed - Apps seem to load quicker.

Cons:

No More Auto-Hide for the Nav Bar - I always liked the fact that the Navigation Bar would auto-hide in all apps, plus it was transparent. Now in apps like Coloring and Chrome it's always there and its white. So you can accidentally hit a button when you are using the Coloring App.. which is highly annoying

Split-screen Control was hard to find: I had to use good ol' Google to help me find out how to use split screen in Android Pie... it's stupid how you now have to click on the apps icon to find it. Not a good move IMHO.

As you can tell I am not a professional reviewer.. lol..

So what are you pros and cons?

I'm thinking the same thing Jebourguey. I wonder what the fallout is if I delay?

the only quirk I have is when using the swiping gestures instead of the actual navigation buttons I have noticed that when you have an app open, you swipe up to multitask and you where the recent apps are it stutters for a second and you can even see the Google pill search bar. I don't know if that's just my device or glitch. I also love the new icons (maybe because I came from a Pixel 2 XL) I don't know why people are crying about them. funny thing is, people will complain and Samsung won't care lol

it seems that the morons in Samsung management don't realize that note users would sooner x out of apps rather than swipe. We have pens!

Everybody associated with Samsung should suffer a painful tortured death. They downgraded way too many features. Then the chat support can't help, even with apps are out there which void the warranty. I really hate that they damaged the split screen and recent apps functions. So much so that all I want is my money back. I'll get a new battery for my Note 4 and enjoy the cash.

Re battery life: mine has gotten worse. Before I downgraded to pie I never had to charge every day. Now it takes forever and doesn't last.

My first thought was exactly that. If they can offer custom themes, icons and backgrounds why would they not be able to add one to their inventory? Seems pretty straightforward to me. That way they can please everybody. I don't think they're listening. And they should. 😠

The best way ive found to deal with multi screen until we get some kind of plugin is just pre load "favorite" app pairs and locate them wherever you please. I have a couple pre loaded on edge screen drawer and on SPen withdraw. Just an opinion.

in the text app. you can't schedule text at a later time or date anymore. I used to schedule texts the night before for a specific time in the morning just incase I don't remember. Now you can't do that anymore.

Well, just an followup, I finally caved and did the update. What a ridiculous waste of time that was! Completley fail to understand what exactly the point was. I rarely dislike updates, preferring to just ignore them. I've been using Samsung products for a long time and not just cell phones but microwaves, dishwashers and other appliances, 2 laptops, cell phones and probably stuff I can't remember. lol

Not liking many of the new features and disliking the fact that they've taken away some things that I really used. 🤔

And now I understand there's to be ANOTHER major update in June? WTH!?
