My snapdragon Note10+ factory reset in my pocket.

Just wondering if anyone has had this happen to them?

Its quite frustrating but I maintain good backups, so got up and running in a day, but it was jarring nonetheless.

I also don't think it was a pocket too many pin attempts because, I use the finger print to unlock and you do have to swipe the screen to access the pin pad.

This is the message I got, on power up

Hi ziom, Is this happened the first time? Have you installed any third-party app before this happened?

The message displayed is FRP lock, which means Factory Reset Protection which is a security feature on android phones. Once FRP is activated, it blocks the use of your Galaxy smartphone after a factory data reset, till you log in using the same Google username and password you previously set up on it.

Hi@ziom,
Please note that the third party apps may cause unusual behavior of the phone or malware issues. I suggest you to verify your phone in Safe mode for 24 hours to diagnose the issue.
Safe mode to check if added apps are causing problems. This mode loads only basic system software and it disables third-party applications.
Here are the steps for Safe mode:
1. After turning off the phone, turn it on.
2. Once the Samsung logo has started, press and hold the volume down button.
3. When the home screen appears, the safe mode is displayed in the lower-left corner of the screen.
How to deactivate safe mode.
1. Press and hold the power button.
2. Tap Restart.

You should report it to Samsung, so they know there is a potential issue

Maybe someone hacked your Samsung account and tried to reset it remotely? I don't know if that's a possible. Maybe change your Samsung account password.

Hi SmoothTozo, If the phone is ever lost or stolen, this service protects your phone from unauthorized factory data resets by using your Google account information to verify your identity. Google Device Protection is enabled automatically when you add a Google account to your phone and set a lock screen. When an unauthorized reset gets performed on your phone, you will be required to sign into the last Google account that was used before the reset. If the wrong information is entered into the phone, it will not unlock. When your phone is reset using the Recovery menu, your phone will ask you for your Google account information. Simply enter it the same way you normally do. If you want to perform a reset without triggering Google Device Protection, you need to do it through Settings. If your phone is reset through the Recovery menu, your Google account and password will be required to unlock the phone after a reset.
