note 8 call from within text message

hi everyone, when I am in my text message and I click the call icon it will automatically go to the dialer pad.
before it would just place a call.

that could be a setting issue. I have the Galaxy S8 which I am sure acts the same as the Note 8 and i just tried hitting the phone icon when I am IN THE message for a certain contact, It calls right away.
When I am in the main message screen, where I see all my messages from my contacts, I can swipe right to call that contact.

swiping works, I've tried everything.my s8+ works fine that way

I checked all the settings can't seem to find anything in regards to my issue

hmm so when you are reading a conversation, and you tap the phone icon, it takes you to the dialpad, with nothing else on it, not the contacts number or doesnt even call?
Seems super strange...Have you tried a reboot?

Yes I have tried a reboot. when I tap the phone icon in the attached photo.
it goes to the dial pad showing in the pic saved contact and with the same number but not saved.as well all my contacts are saved but shows up when you click the phone icon from the text option the number shows not saved

I have a Samsung S8+ and in settings/advanced features, if you enable direct call, when your in a text message, just lift the phone to your ear and out will call that person, it will dial and not just go to the dialer. So no need to tap or swipe, just put the phone to your ear and voila!!!!

as well as you can see from the pic that I just attached when in text messages you click the phone icon this is now what happens
