Fully updated Galaxy Note 9 does truly clear the stock clipboard. In fact, I have seen it recall a clip from many months ago, even after weeks of periodic clearing. This is somewhat of a security risk. If something says it clears, it should truly clear.

I cannot see the pattern. Sometimes it looks like everything is cleared however other times old clips appear and pressing Clear does not remove them, but matter how many times I try. Then days later, it reappears.

Is some app stuffing things back into the clipboard behind the scenes? I am not access these old items in any way. And why wouldn't Clear erase it while I am viewing the clipboard. It seems to be a Samsung issue because of that.

Anyone else have this issue?

Hi paulpaul,
Please follow the below steps on your phone and get back to us with the results.
I suggest you to add the clipboard to the edge panel and delete the clips.
Go to Settings>>Tap on Display>>Tap Edge screen>>Tap Edge panels>>Enable it>>Tap on Clipboard edge>>.
Then access the clipboard edge from the Edge panels and click on the clip you want to delete it.
You can also find the Delete all option from the Clipboard edge.

Yes, they is what I tried using to delete the items. It does not work as per my post. It is clearly a bug as far as I can tell.

Hey paulpaul,

Thanks for providing the result.

I suggest you to perform the factory data reset on your phone after saving the phone data in a computer using Smart switch software and check if it works.

Here is the smart switch link to backup data: https://www.samsung.com/ca/support/mobile-devices/samsung-galaxy-smartphone-how-to-back-up-your-devi...

You need to remove all the configured accounts from your phone before performing the phone factory data reset.

Go to Settings>>Back up and Accounts>>Accounts>>Tap one account(Ex: Google account)>>Delete account.

Here are the steps for factory data reset:

Go to Settings>>General management>>Reset>>Factory data reset. Then follow the on-screen instructions.

I am not fond of going through all that effort. Samsung's application has a defect and I only wanted Samsung to be aware of it. Something is wrong with the clipboard Clear function. When the problem occurs again, I will upload a screen video of it, repeatedly pressing clear and the unlocked item never going away.

Hi paulpaul,
Please generate the error report from the Samsung Members app so that our team can review the Log Files and will get back to you.
Here is the link to follow the steps in a Samsung members app:

Hey paulpaul. Go to your secure/private folder and delete each clipboard item manually by holding your finger on each item and tap on "remove item from clipboard " then exit secure folded and delete the clipboard items. Restart your phone
