Transfer from internal storage to sd card

Ok one more question for all you Android gurus please: I searched on Google but couldn't replicate.

I just inserted a brand new EVO+ 64 GB into my Note9 and I can see the card. but how do I xfer my images etc. to the card now and free up my internal storage?

Also how do I set up the card to be the default storage going forward?

please help.. am Android dumbo..I admit.

@IflySoLO, once you insert your card into your phone and you launch the camera app, it should say that an SD card was detected and give you the option to save your pictures to it going forward. Once that's done, take a picture and it should be saved to your SD card, next go into the gallery, you should see 2 camera folders (main storage and SD card) select all your pics in the main storage camera folder, press the 3 dots (top right) select move, and select the new camera folder of the SD card.

Music can be stored on the external sd card as well - I'm using Spotify & in settings select the external sd card - Take note that many apps will not work properly (if at all) if you move them to the external sd.
I'm a big fan of Root Explorer Pro & it's great for seeing what's where & moving or copying files & apks - You'll have to grant Storage permission to copy images etc to files (you can add your own folders) to move or copy into 🐧
