Hello everyone. I have been experiencing crashing on my whatsapp since March Security update on my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. I have cleared catche, data, deleted and reinstalled the app but still it still crashing. When I try to send messages to contacts in the app, the message just dissappears. I will receive inbound messages but cannot respond to any. Then I decided to factory reset the phone and installed all apps afresh. This has greatly improved the app's performance, however, it crashed again once since factory reset. There are actually four reported cases of crashing in the history report since factory reset.

Has anyone had similar experience? Any hint on finding a lasting solution? Will appreciate any help. Whatsapp is my primary messaging app.

I don't use WhatsApp, but you could try this, and see if it's at least a temporary fix.

Uninstall WhatsApp & download the March 24th or earlier version of WhatsApp from apk mirror. You'll eventually be forced to update it, but it'd be interesting to see if a previous version still crashes or not.

Turn OFF Autoupdates on the Play Store & Galaxy Store BEFORE you try this.

Let me know if WhatsApp still crashes using a previous version.

Here's the link apk mirror (It's EXTREMELY SAFE to download apks from apk mirror!!)

Thank you for the response. Will try your suggestion. However, the crashing didn't start after an update to the app but the phone security update. So I doubt if the problem will have to do with app update .

Given that both your device & WhatsApp are very popular, I think that it's likely just coincidence the issues you are experiencing happened after an update.

I'm pretty sure that if it was just Samsung's update, you'd be seeing 10s of thousands of reports on the same issue.

Try my suggestions, you've got nothing to lose.

The app seem to be working fine since yesterday. If I experience any major crashing, then will download the version he suggested and try it out. Thanks everyone
