I currently have 1Gb internet speeds at home. My router is the Linksys Velop mesh wifi with 3 Nodes. When I run a speed test on that computer, I consistently get 940+ Mb/s download speeds. When I connect to the 5ghz WiFi with my Note 10+, and I run the speedtest.net app to check wifi speeds, I get a maximum of around 180 Mb/s. I also get the same speeds when I use the Samsung internet browser and run the same speed test from the browser, with speedtest.net. I am not running any VPN. What could be causing my Note 10+ from getting full speeds? One thing to note, my upload speed is not affected. I get the same upload speeds as my PC that is connected through Ethernet. Very frustrating.

yeah you'll never get that out of a phone lol wired connection yes but not with wifi on phones not for awhile anyways. they will be working on making 5g faster and 6g before we get super fast wifi on phones... I have 1gig speeds with shaw and I only get around 250 to 300 out of my phone on 5ghz. but on my computer it pretty close to maxed out.

honestly your only missing a 1 to 2 seconds different unless your a heavier downloader of movies etc on your phone.

I guess one can only wish for faster mobile Wi-Fi. Regardless, all my real downloading is done on my desktop, so yeah, not a big loss if mobile Wi-Fi speeds haven't caught up yet.

your N20U is fully capable of upto 1Gbps but the bottleneck variables are multiple so it's unlikely to get that high. I'm getting about 500 to 600 on fibe. I think I ran faster one day but one thing no one mentioned is ping and server location and even time of day. make sure your ping is 5 or less, make sure you choose nearest server, and always quality test off peak hours ..

I decided to run my Shaw Blucurve modem Wi-Fi. What a shock, it's a lot faster than my Velop mesh setup. The crazy thing, my Shaw Bluecurve modem is upstairs behind my TV, and no mesh wifi set up. My Velop has 3 nodes throughout the house. I'm consistently faster with the Shaw modem no matter where in the house I am. I paid over $600 for this Velop, what a waste of money. Take a look at the speeds, I have Shaw 1Gigabit service. I was actually thinking of upgrading to a new mesh Wi-Fi system, but what's the point now, when the Shaw Bluecurve modem is doing just fine for the whole house?

Maybe the issue is with the WiFi frequency.

A 2.4 GHz WiFi connection typically runs at less than 90 Mbps whereas a 5.0 GHz WiFi connection can run at 300 Mbps or even faster.

If you have a dual-band Wi-Fi router (2.4 and 5.0 GHz), try connecting your phone to the 5.0 band.

The speed shown in your WiFi connection settings will always be 30-50% higher than the speed you get from fast.com or Speedtest.net meaning your phone can't really achieve that speed in practice.

Hi,

Actually I had the same problem with you.
My ISP package is 500Mbps. While using LAN cable do speed test, no doubt can get full speed.

When come to phone Wifi, there is significantly drop.

Phone connect 5Ghz band max @ 280 Mbps, however, it can up to 450 Mbps while using PC Wifi @ 5Ghz band too.

Therefore, I assumed that phone Wifi had limited the speed.
I think phone Wifi are connected 5Ghz of 802.11N (300Mbps max) instead of 802.11ac.
Is there any way to clarify this?
