When I restart my 1 week old phone, the last text message (Google messages) re-appears as a new message. I recently switched from an S22 Ultra to the S24. Help

Hi Philipt, how long has it been since you've rebooted your phone? If you're having problems, then please check for the app updates.

Thank you.

I rebooted my phone last evening. I'm also having an issue with one app (MileIQ) draining the battery. I've reached out to their support. I did a clear cache reboot too.

Yes, I have done that already too, and did a restart after uninstalling and before reinstalling the app. Since recharging this morning, the battery use is 3% and MileIQ use is 0.8%, sitting on the table not being used

The issue with the reappearing message notification seems to have disappeared, along with the MileIQ rapidly draining the battery after I did a full clear cache reboot of my device

Nasty lil app!
Mileage app needs access to Google services Api audio and video files which it has no purpose doing and accessing images files from storage!!?

No I'd never install this and would look eslewhrre.

1 thing I lived and missed about ios was if an app requested access to items the end USER could fully prevent and the app should and usually did still work. I thought long ago Google did this but it was just a PR stunt - nothing has changed. 1720047229158.jpg

There must be another mileage app you can use.

Regarding Google Messages, I disallowed personally using it. You mentioned you have the latest version ..

1. Backup (cloud). Backup local storage using USB-C to USB-A adapter. Ensure backup!

2. Regarding Google Messages I disallowed personally using it. You mentioned you have the latest version .. see if that works?

have you tried checking a stable release or beta2 version on apkmirror site, & side load that?

Before that, try setting Samsung Messages ans set to default - ensure settings to NOT delete old messages RIGHT AFTER LAUNCHING it!

The disable Google Messages after confirming your messages are in order. Reboot, re-enable Google Messages and launch, confirm all is good and bobs your uncle.

The issue with messages is that it showed a notification on the home screen of the last message, but no notification in the actual messages (weird). That has resolved itself too
