Just wondering if anyone else is having issues with the portrait studio option after the 7.0 rollout?

For context I am in Canada and received the rollout last month I believe. I've noticed that most of the images I already used portrait studio on to change to watercolor sketch cartoon Etc for my photos do not recognize the exact same images as being eligible. There is simply no portrait studio option I am assuming this is because of the new ridiculously overproccessed un natural looking images after the rollout and maybe it doesn't recognize natural looking pictures.

After going through several images that I had already used the portrait studio AI on successfully before the rollout there was only one I could choose and it didn't immediately show me that I could even use portrait studio I had to swipe left on a bunch of options that were sort of grayed out and not easily visible.

I hate to jump on any bandwagon but I have to say this 7.0 has absolutely ruined an incredible phone. I never used to play around with my phone until I got the s24. It was better than anything I'd ever seen and even better than Apple phones. Now there are so many steps you need to take so many functions that no longer work or barely work and just overall functionality is quite far from being seamless. I pretty much hate everything about the update.

Hi unsung70

We appreciate you sharing your experience after the One UI 7.0 update on your Galaxy S24.

We understand your frustration regarding the changes to the AI Portrait Studio feature. This may be due to updated eligibility criteria, including how the system now detects faces, depth information, or previously edited content.

Additionally, with the new UI changes in One UI 7.0, certain features are now placed differently. The Portrait Studio option may now require swiping further through the editing toolbar or selecting an eligible image under more specific conditions.

Here are a few things you can try:

Clear Gallery Cache: Go to Settings > Apps > Gallery > Storage > Clear Cache. This may help refresh and restore editing options.

Use Original Images: If edited versions no longer trigger Portrait Studio, try using the original image.

Update Software & Apps: Make sure your device and Gallery app are fully up to date via the Galaxy Store and Settings.

Submit Feedback: Please consider submitting an error report through the Samsung Members app > Support > Send feedback > Error reports > One UI. Our development teams actively review these submissions to prioritize improvements in future updates.

We truly appreciate your feedback and understand how important a smooth and intuitive user experience is — especially with standout features like AI Portrait Studio. Your input helps us improve.

Thank you.

Thank you I have submitted this issue with feedback. I should also mention the images that are recognized as eligible look nothing like me whereas before they were remarkably life like. Everybody wanted to know and get their hands on this phone when I started sending AI versions of themselves. I strongly suggest going back. Also I noticed when trying to generate a portrait studio now be at Watercolor or cartoon Etc, you can only do one at a time which takes so much time whereas before it would generate I think four or five options now it just does one. I won't be really using the feature as much anymore which was my favorite feature because of these reasons. I'm just not really sure what the team was thinking with this new update.
