Samsung is advertising 0% APR and I was approved for 0% APR but my affirm has a trade in credit of $1787 charged if trade in was denied but on Samsungs end they only took off $1145 off my order for my s23u which means it's $600 over MSRP over on affirm!

My original post was deleted so I am being more vague this time but want to get the point across.

How is your affirm trade credit #1787? The $1145 makes more sense.

I have no idea. Something is very strange. Affirm should be showing $1145.20 and that if Samsung denied the trade in, affirm charges $1145 to bring my cost to $2098 which is MSRP price of the phone. But $1787 it will be $600 over.

The full amount, called "trade-in credit", is always displayed in Affirm. This is done so that Samsung can claw back part of the trade-in if the condition of your phone is worse than stated. Or if you do not send your trade-in phone. That is why Affirm provides you with full amount financing.

The full amount of the phone is 2098 though not 1787. It would make sense for Samsung to deny the 1145 credit which would then make the phone 2098 (MSRP price)

You probably used the vouchers, maybe in-app discount right? If so, $1787 is your firm price after discount and vouchers. No one will take the discount away from you, that's why you see this price, not the MSRP.

I have purchased several times through Affirm. The "Instant Trade-in Credit" line always displays the full amount after the discount, but together with the trade-in cost of your device. This is done for the reasons I wrote above, and Samsung answered you the same.

If you send the declared device, you should not worry. According to the promotion, your guaranteed trade-in credit is $550. So in your case it means you won't pay more than $1237 (1787-550). After Samsung has examined your device, you will receive the final cost of the device. If the condition is as stated, you will have the full stated discount, and your final price will be $1077. If your trade-in device condition is worse than stated (for example, it has a scratch or something like that), Samsung claw back part of the trade-in value and your final price will be between $1077 and $1237.

I didn’t use any vouchers at the time of order (the 22nd) ( I applied them thru cs 2 days ago as I received the codes late) but the affirm loan was before I did the vouchers, they aren’t showing up yet it will take a few days. I did order through the app however, and the $550 promo is guarantee, while the other $545 could change depending on condition, but wouldn’t it make sense to display $1145 on affirm? I’m sorry if I sound like a broken record it’s just very confusing, the full price of the phone is $2098 before tax, Samsung took off $1145 which made it $1077 as of now, but affirm took off $1787 instead of $1145.

I understand your concern. But that's what they called it for some reason. As I said, that value is not actually the trade-in amount for your device. This is the total amount Affirm approved and it includes the trade-in credit for your phone.

For what reason this amount is less than MSRP, I do not know. You better contact support on the Samsung website.

Samsung won't do anything, they tell me to call affirm and when I call affirm they say they cannot do anything and that it's system generated by samsung and to call Samsung and basically each of them point at each other and don't solve the problem. I was getting frustrated on the phone with both of them today.

As an example, here is my Affirm installment plan, which I have already fully paid off. I paid $554 total. But the amount called "instant trade-in credit" is always displayed. 1738012176945.jpg
