I would like to only use sbc as a codec and I have figured out how to disable aac.  However every time I reconnect my headphones aac is re enabled by default.  Is there a way I can set sbc as my permanent default?

Hi, we suggest you follow the given steps.
Go to your device Settings >>Tap on System >>Navigate to Developer options
(you may need to turn on the Developer options first).
Find the Bluetooth audio codec menu.
Select your preferred option.

And we would like to inform you that We can not set it to the default.
We can only change it.

I appreciate the response but that is very disappointing. Hopefully that can be addressed in the future

Hi, we'll ensure you that it will be considered as feedback and value your time contacting us.
We certainly bring it to our team for further review.
Hopefully, the feature that you're expecting might be added in a future update.

Hopefully we can choose default codec through our BT Earbuds in the future. 👍

Seems hard to believe a simple issue like that hasn't been addressed thus far
