With the latest update of Android 9 on my S8, I'm having multiple issues with the camera app. Trouble switching between modes and I cannot focus in video mode.
Love the interface but it needs to work. Solution is to use a third party camera app, until an update with bug fixes comes (please and thank you:)
Did you try simply going to Settings - Apps - Scroll down to the Camera - Storage & Clear Cache & Data for the Camera? Should be one of the first things to try 🐧
