Galaxy S
My contact for my S22 ultra 256 ends in April 2024. I have a very decent plan I think (?)
With Telus
$65 for 50 GB
$ 34.67 for device ( bring it back that i never realized till recently. $530 due at end of my 2 years)
$15 device protection.
Do I pay the $520 and keep the S22 ultra? So far I am happy with it.
I use it for things like I would a laptop and facebook. How many more years of updates do I have left?
I feel ir wasn't that long ago that my plan phone included was only $40 😮
Now this AI new feature and why do I want it???
On a fixed income and with cost of everything I am perplexed as to what the *** I should do.
Honestly don't even want to put out the $520 and handing it back in, I know they will squeeze more money than I currently pay for a device.
I have been with TELUS a long Long time
??????

I switched to Freedom from Koodo and Telus. I was paying same as you but never used the data as I have unlimited gigabit plan at home. I paid $149 prepaid to Freedom for a full year with 30gb for the year rather than per month.
Your paying way too much. You coukd pay off the S22 in a few months if you have a cheap plan and then save up for a new phone for next year.

Unfortunately, it seems to me you are paying too much, certainly you need to find a better plan. And there are always better plans there. And, technically, the s22u can be enjoyable for the next 2-4 years without any issue, and honestly, I don't think the AI stuff will help you a lot. In addition, I think if people really enjoy using new model phones then it's better to rent a phone from service providers otherwise it's better to buy a phone and use it for 4/5 years.

Buy that phone and switch...I switched to Telus from Rogers a month and a half ago and came back because signal strength was too weak...came back when I saw BYOD 40$ Can /US 75Go for 2 years. I am in Québec. Will never buy again a phone from carrier they boost the price of plan so you pay more at the end
