I am not used to it and I don't want to start a panic movement but I have to know: did you also get a faulty S24 Ultra regarding the camera zoom defect?

This issue came to my mind reading a comment made om PhoneArena which claims that when you switch the lens from X3 to X5 on the new camera you definitely have a shift issue while zooming, and even from 1X to 5x.

I guess if I claim a return Samsung will accept it since I didn't complete my 14 days, right?

Thanks for your advice!

No isues with that it's the phone switching lenses trying to figure out if it should crop or focus. Lenses are apart and switching. Iphine does same thing just better polished and looks like ghosting. Sure software will tweak this

I've seem the issue on the internet. You are not alone. Actually yours looks much BETTER than one I saw. One dude in India legit has the picture jump and it goes to the side.

Thank you all and @gino188 as I previously stated, this is not a normal behavior, even while switching lenses. I do own an S23U and an iPhone 13 Pro Max and I do not get those effects while switching lenses.

Samsung India acknowledged the problem and even in Europe (Spain) they do have this issue with the subject moving out of the range + the confirmation that at least in India it was already known to be a faulty phone: https://www.androidheadlines.com/2024/02/galaxy-s24-ultra-camera-hardware-issue.html.

Contacted Samsung Canada Technical Chat Support, and they know about this issue & said It will be fixed in the upcoming Software update. I do not how true this statement is, I guess we have to wait & see.

Thanks a lot Samsung_j3blwTy I have also read that it could be a software issue, which could be possible. I really hope this will be fixed ASAP since I use those macro lenses a lot.

Update (8th Feb): Thanks God, I followed my instinct and brought back my phone to an official Samsung Store. They did confirm the camera lag and said in my case it was definitely related to the motherboard. A new phone should be on its way in the upcoming days.
Here are the steps I took:
1) Made sure to fill a request using the Samsung support app, including the files log
2)Went to the store with a video showing the problem (I recorded my screen while zooming)
3) The support team was amazing: they quickly acknowledged the problem and made sure to document it
4) They asked me to use the chat app, mentioning my previous steps
5) I also got amazing support from the chat team, who helped me to request a replacement.

I'll definitely keep you posted in case you'd have the same issue.

Good luck to all of you!

I have same issue but I don't think it's motherboard or hardware problem, it's just the transition between lenses is not smooth enough to hide this effect. It will only happen when you switch zoom between lenses, if you stay with only one lens, this will not happen. I have checked and confirmed it. Samsung might address this in software update but here in Toronto they are not counting it as motherboard or hardware issue and not replacing the units.
