Hey guys need help with something, I see that there's a quick icon for flashlight on lockscreen but I have to unlock the device to turn it on ,but the camera icon opens without unlocking the device. Why is that , is there something I can do to turn on flashlight without unlocking the device.

*** Got the solution guys I was supposed to swipe for flashlight not click on the icon😂.

It may be in your settings. I don't have to unlock mine to use it. I'll poke around and see if I can find something more.

Depending on your device, you could also use the Side Button to turn on the Torch, or "Hey Google, turn on the Torch".

My S25 with One UI 7 allows me to turn on the light from the lock screen without having to unlock my device. I can pull down the quick settings and flashlight works but other settings like Bluetooth or airplane mode require the device to be unlocked.

Hi Nidhin07,

You're using the Galaxy S24 Ultra, and after updating to One UI 7, you're experiencing an issue where the flashlight icon flickers when pressed, and it won’t turn on without unlocking the phone.

Check Lock Screen Settings: Samsung may have made changes to lock screen functionality in One UI 7, so it’s worth checking the lock screen settings to ensure everything is configured properly:

Go to Settings > Lock screen > Shortcuts. Make sure the Flashlight shortcut is set up correctly. If it’s already there, try removing the shortcut and re-adding it.

To check if any third-party apps are interfering with the flashlight function, try booting your phone into Safe Mode. This disables third-party apps temporarily, allowing you to see if the issue persists:

  • Press and hold the Power button until the power options appear.

  • Tap and hold "Power off" until you see the Safe Mode prompt.

  • Tap OK to reboot into Safe Mode.

Once in Safe Mode, try pressing the flashlight icon again. If it works without unlocking, a third-party app is likely causing the issue.

Thank you.
