try to reset the network settings in the settings menu ~ general management ~ reset ~ reset network settings
continue to clear the gmaps application cache ..
then restart your handphone too ...try again ..

you can try this setting...
Go To Setting > Apps > Search Maps and then click> click application data usage and make sure your setting like this pict...
