Hey all, I just moved to Android from Apple and I'm trying to figure out how to delete my attachments in Messages/SMS. Can someone assist?  I dont want to save (already figured that it-but is there a way to do a mass delete?).  Model is Samsung S10.  Thanks!

Hi @hopealewis,

If you long press the attatchment message, you should have the option to delete it. From there you can select all the attatchments you want deleted, and hit Delete and it should be deleted!

Cheers,

Jeremy

When in the conversation click the top right 3 dot thingy than hit shared content and delete away 👍

Sorry I gave you some bad information must of been thinking of something else. If you go into settings and turn on del old messages that would also help also beside that the other two people were right on point.

just hold the pic I.e. long press. then select that pic. dots pop up on the left side of the txt. you can check all you want to delete. or one attachment. once selected hit the 3 dots top right of the screen select delete and confirm. all done p.s. any saved deleted pics go trash. that's a menu in your gallery.

I tried this also...no three dots? I'm looking for a mass delete to do this quickly instead of doing one by one...my buddies go crazy on the memes lol.

Attaching pic where I did what you said in the message. no three dots?

That's ok...I will turn the delete old messages on...problem is I dont really want to delete the actual convo (sometimes you just need to cover your own a!@). Will turning that on, delete the whole SMS thread?

No, just the oldest in the thread.

You might also wanna read about secure folder for covering your **bleep**. The nice thing about it is you can use a separate password from your main that you use to unlock your phone and also hide the folder from people seeing it you can also add different chat apps and such.
