Just putting this out here looking for some tips. I've been either almost using all of my data or exceeding my data usage for the last few months.

I find most of it is Facebook, Google & Email when I check my data usage on my phone. I've turned off my Auto sync on my email to only check it when i manually go in and refresh it. Facebook I've shut off the auto play for video, and for Google I did nothing because im not quite sure what to do to save data or turn off things there. I use my phone for work so I do use it pretty much all day.

Does anyone have some tips? When I am home I now turn off my data but i hate doing that because I dont recieve photos through text when they are sent to me.

Another question is would turning off location be helpful to slow down my data usage?

Any other little tips would be great!

location services wouldn't make much of a difference. it impacts battery life, but data usage would be minimal.

I would definitely recommend using the phone in an area or building where Wi-Fi is available as it does not use up your data.

I can't always connect to Wi-Fi depending on where I am while working. I am connected 50% of the time. Thank you.

Facebook & FB Messenger are Notorious for constantly refreshing and sucking up your Data (as well as your battery) There's more efficient apps like Metal you can use instead of FB (which I personally don't like or use Period) There's also some apps that can help you reduce your Data usage Datally from Google is one such app 🐧

generally leave off the ADDITION of more apps til the very last straw when attempting to reduce the overcrowding issue.

Here's a very important tip, go to settings - wifi and network - mobile network - Data Saver. If you use this feature, no apps can eat your data except the app that you open only. You can also add apps manually that can your use data in background. This feature saves huge amounts of data. I never run out of my 4GB data plan this way on my S8+, and my data is always active when there's no wifi.

Hey @Ashley! For individual applications, there is setting called "Allow background data usage". You can also disable them by pressing on the application > App info > Mobile data > Turn off "Allow background data usage" to save more cellular data! Thanks!
