How to enable RCs chat?

I'm inside a text message I want to enable what I think is RCs so 

Chat options

I go to this option and toggle it on. 

however it turns itself back off right away and I keep having to go back to the menu to turn on. Therefore All my messages are being sent as regular texts. 

I'm using the Samsung chat app and latest android.

Out of curiosity, have you tried installing the Google messages app and enabling rcs on there to see if it works?

Yes I have and it doesn't make a difference

Does your Carrier / Plan support RCS (chat)?

Contact your Carrier to verify if RCS (chat) is supported.

Yes it does as it's freedom mobile and it worked before, also in google chat I see rcs as connected

In that case, clear BOTH Cache & Data for Google Messages & Reboot. 

You'll have to Enable RCS (chat) again. 

It's also possible that the SIM card may need to be replaced?

You can check by using the Diagnostics on Samsung Members app & run the Diagnostics for the SIM. See if you get any error messages?

Hi, as you have tried using Google messages app to enable RCS feature, but still it is not working, we recommend you to please check with your service provider if they support on your device and to enable it.
