So I just created a Square account and needed to take a picture of my ID card. On my s24 plus the picture was insanely blurry but when I used the Square app on my 8 year old S8, it was much better.

The normal camera app is fine on both phones.

Why is the in-app camera so blurry on a $900+ phone?

Maybe try to raise the phone much higher before you tap to take a picture of your ID card, then when the app opens up the camera, start lowering the camera down slowly until it hits focus. I've noticed that when my TD app uses my cameras to take photos of cheques for direct deposit, it can't take photos as well as using Samsung's native camera app.

Hi farhsaila,

As said by Dem_Crumblies_TechYT please try moving the device higher and take picture. If that doesn't work clearing the cache and data for the camera app can resolve the issue. Go to Settings > Apps > Camera > Storage > Clear cache and data and restart the device.

Helena. This isn't something that should be posted about on forums. In-app camera should have a focus capability without me needing to raise the camera etc
