When someone hooks thier phone up to my phone's hotspot, under advanced settings it shows an IP address. Is that always the same as my phone's IP address or does my hotspot have its own IP address?

When someone connects to your Hotspot, the device that connects will typically be assigned a new IP address on the local network created by your Hotspot. This local ip address is used for your Hotspot as a private network. This is separate with thr IP address assigned to your device by your internet service provider. That way it also maintains the privacy.

@islãnd is correct. The device that is connected to your device via your HotSpot is invisible to the Internet, only your ip is seen. They are using an ip address that exists only between your two devices.

The device connected is NOT "invisible" to the internet by default or by itself.

Conditions if said connected device has File Sharing enabled or Bonjour service enabled or similar sharing service where it will broadcast its IP, host name and or any software doing the same (Think Bomgar, Teamviewer, etc)

Let's not over generalize things as a base and spread false pretense please.
