Hey everyone!

I've noticed recently that the power saving mode randomly turns back on after I turn it off.

For context, here's some info:
Phone: Samsung S23 Ultra
Adaptive Power Saving: Off
Latest software update
No Modes and Routines that change battery settings

I've tried to use the Device Care options, tried to restart phone... but nada.

I checked Google and Reddit already and most solutions don't seem to work so far.

Does anyone know of a sure shot way to fix this?

I've never used any power savings settings, but if you're looking for a "sure fire" way to fix it.. Factory Reset should do the trick.

There's likely a few less time consuming ways to do it, ie: Reset Settings.

Hi HungryDanny,

We are sad to hear that your'e experiencing this issue with your Samsung S23 Ultra. Please check and try the below steps to resolve the problem.

Boot your phone into Safe Mode to see if the issue persists. Safe Mode disables third-party apps, which could help determine if an app is causing the problem.

  • To enter Safe Mode, press and hold the Power button, then tap and hold Power off until the Safe Mode option appears. Tap Safe Mode to confirm.
  • If the issue doesn't occur in Safe Mode, it may be caused by a third-party app.

Check for Battery Optimization: Go to Settings > Apps > tap on the three dots in the top right corner > Special Access > Optimize battery usage. Check if any apps are set to optimize battery usage that might interfere with your settings.

If none of the above works, as adviced by RedDogRabbit consider backing up your data and performing a factory reset. This should be a last resort as it will erase all data on the device. Please back up your device before performing factory reset.

Hi Helenna,

Thanks for the tips, however I do not see the "Optimize battery usage" option.. could it be called something else by some chance?

I'm including a screen capture of all the options I have.1729615848898.jpg

Go to Settings & Search for "Optimize".

Or look in Settings > Device Care.

Right okay, thanks for the heads-up on that!

Where / how do I find which apps have this battery optimize thing?

Is it in the Background Usage limits page or elsewhere?
