Just wondering if there is a setting for the Samsung keyboard to only open when selecting a text area.

Hi tommor,

The Samsung Keyboard is designed to open only when selecting a text field. If it opens unintentionally, ensure the Keyboard Toolbar is off (Settings > General Management > Samsung Keyboard Settings > Keyboard Toolbar) and reset the keyboard settings if needed (Reset to Default Settings).

Thank you.

Great suggestion this actually helped the double popup within Firefo on my S23!

Unfortunately there is a lot of cached search words I had no idea was there and I'd like to rid them if possible. I'm not seeing that option in the settings steps you've provided. I must be glaring over something.

I just got it now and it does the same thing on facebook if I click comments the gboard pops up then I have to hit the back botton to read the comments not a huge deal just annoying

Yeah that does happen, it can be annoying however gboard I find is far better than Samsung keyboard in many ways, so I'm able to live with that.

Lol just love the ultimate praise yet when it behaves the same way as Samsungs Keyboard, Board gets a pass. Lol.

If an app in it's basic behavior suffers the same as it's competitor then it can't be so much better, else the developers have ignored what others find crucial. It's the oldest thing in software since personal computers hit homes, yet in smartphones it just keeps growing. :(

You may be write but I'm sure certain things Samsung's Keybaord does better or is unique to Gaalxy devices that Gbaord may not have access to or misses. ??

Yeah for sure. In terms of functionality Samsung keyboard is far better.

I just don't like the layout of the keyboard. It's hard to press the space cause it's so small, and I don't like having to press extra buttons for periods and commas, and gboard I can make it big enough for my hands to use it easily. 1742875511311.jpg

As you can see here the keyboard takes more then half the phone screen making typing so much easier imo.

Now that makes proper sense. Not something i ned personally yet I'm sure many would find useful.

Cheers for the learnt lesson. :)
