Galaxy SHi KelSmitty,
If your text messages are no longer working with your car’s Bluetooth w hile calls and contacts still function properly, please try the following troubleshooting steps:
Forget & Re-Pair Your Car’s Bluetooth Connection: Settings → Connections → Bluetooth → Find your car and tap “Forget Device”. Restart both your phone and car. Re-pair your phone with the car and allow all permissions, including message access.
If you’ve recently switched messaging apps, your car may not recognize the new app: Settings → Apps → Default Apps. Ensure your preferred messaging app Google Messages is set as the default.
If available, check for firmware updates from your car manufacturer.
Reset the Bluetooth System in Your Car. Some car systems allow you to reset Bluetooth settings. Check your car’s infotainment system settings and try clearing paired devices or resetting the Bluetooth module.
If the issue persists after these steps, we recommend testing with another phone to determine whether the issue is related to your phone or the car’s system.
Thank you.
