Messages App - April Update

Hi, 

In the new update (S8), Messages has a bar at the top of the app that says "Messages, # unread messages". 


It takes up 40% of the screen.

I would like it to not do this.


I would like to adjust the amount of space this takes up (less).

Or know of alternative apps I could download for messaging that reflect the prior minimalist theme. Preferably one I could transfer contacts/messages to.

You understand that Android Pie is from Google not Samsung right....

I know Samsung alters is slightly for their devices but the foundation is all google.

You might want to reach out to google and provide them feedback..

@SnowCat19 I did through e-mail.... no answers. It seems that everybody wants us yo use the report spammer yo build a database of spammers but the "Phrase Block" option was useful for exceptions.
