I FOUND IT! At least on my phone. Go to settings, search for "Live Caption" and switch it off. I tried Bixby routines and turning off the Mute All, and anything else I found online the past month. None of it worked. When I went into settings, mute all, I saw the Lve Caption option and coincidentally I've been getting live captions that I didn't want. So I switched it off. Surprisingly, that solved both problems. My live captioning is off and my phone no longer mutes itself and that little mute icon that was coming up when I adjusted my volume is now gone. Problem solved. Finally.Whew!
