Hi,

I don't know the real reasons why the call recording feature is disabled in Canada. As far as I know it's not illegal to record a conversation if you are a part of it.

Could you please raise this concern to people how could help us on behalf of all Canadians customers who needs this feature.

Thank you.

It's not just Samsung, it is Google & Apple as well.

If you want / need to record calls, the only option is with a 3rd party app.

Yes call recording is legal in Canada. The only reason why the OEMs have disabled this in North America.. fear of litigation, don't care, bending to some other lame excuse?

On Samsung Cubed ACR works, it's about $14 per year subscription, and it can't record the other party if they are using Bluetooth.

Thanks RedDogRabbit for the answer.

for all the 3rd party app I tested they all record from mic, and can not record from Bluetooth like you said .

It's upsetting to know that I need to do all this Gymnastic to have a Feature already existing in my phone, and this feature is disabled for no good reason.

False.  Apple has made the feature available in iOS 18, and I can attest to the fact that it does work in Canada, though it notifies the other party that they are being recorded.  As a user of both devices, I am noticing more and more how Apple is pulling away from Samsung.

Hi, thank you for raising your concerns with us.  We are sorry to hear that you are upset that this feature is not currently available in Canada.

Although Samsung Canada is not obligated to make this service available in Canada we do appreciate hearing from customers on what service and features are of interest and value to them.

Hi Helena,

thank you for answering, but I feel it's like a generic answer ( or  worse its an automated answer).

if it's the case, that's mean Samsung Canada do not care about there customer at all.

Since the feature is now available in Canada on Apple's iOS 18, Samsung is going to have to play catch up.  Between this feature and the hardly ever working biometrics, I may soon be solely an Apple user.

I use an app called Openphone (VOIP line) when I want the calls recorded.

It's unlikely that call recording is going to be available in Canada / US for exactly the reason @RedDogRabbit said -- litigation.

Thank gshok.

i guess is using a voip line is the only way to record conversation over Bluetooth. i did not test it.

but it's pricy for personal use. I need call recording just to not forget address and appointment..etc.

Yeah it works with my Bluetooth headsets. Gets both sides of the call.

It is definitely on the pricier side, but I use it for the same reason and the transcribing and summary feature is a lifesaver.
