Native call recording for Samsung Canadian models

Hi,

I don't know the real reasons why the call recording feature is disabled in Canada. As far as I know it's not illegal to record a conversation if you are a part of it.

Could you please raise this concern to people how could help us on behalf of all Canadians customers who needs this feature.

If it's only for the two reasons you mentioned, I think that you could ask the person if they would be kind enough to text you the details?

Apple has released call recording in Canada for 18.1. I’m hoping Samsung can follow suit

Confirmed on my iPhone 15 Pro v18.1 @android/@Google needs to do better.

Samsung S24 will be my last Samsung. @Helenna....from a customer standpoint there is NO excuse not to make this feature available.

It is available on Apple devices running iOS 18, even in Canada.

This is now available on Canadian S25 Ultra. SM-S938W. It plays a mandatory "this call is being recorded" tone at the start of the recording.

Native Call recording is also disabled in Australia - Similarly recording calls is not illegal in Australia, and the law really only covers publicly distributing calls without permission as far as I'm aware. For legal submission etc, so long as the call is not made fully public, then it can be used in evidence is my understanding.

I have managed to use the Cube ACR app available from the samsung store. It is available with a free tier and able to record calls very well even though it is disabled in the native interface. Give that a try. It can havesome issues with voip apps etc but my experience has been remarkably seamless.
