I'm trying to figure out how to get native call recording to work. Samsung offers it, it's not illegal in Canada where I live. We actually have a right to record.

The service is only geolocked. What can I do to get it turned on? I don't feel having to pay for an app, or downloading an app or APK is an appropriate answer from a manufacturer that offers the service, but chooses who gets to use it for no legal reason.

Samsung Canada disabled it in their phone application even though call recording is legal here. Their representatives come on here and espouse Samsung's commitment to the Canadian customer, but in reality they don't care one iota about the customer and only give us lip service.

There might be an application like Cube ACR that will do something similar, or maybe there's a version of Samsung OS or phone application (from another country) that will work.

Hey gingerMac,

Thank you for raising your concerns with us.  We are sorry to hear that you are upset that this feature is not currently available in Canada.

Although Samsung Canada is not obligated to make this service available in Canada we do appreciate hearing from customers on what service and features are of interest and value to them.

Why is it not available?

Not obligated? You charge a lot of money for your devices here in Canada, which your customers pay, and then you cripple them for no good reason.

And It's not a service. It's a feature of an application that you have purposely disabled for your customers in this country.

Hope it makes you feel good to defend this type of practise and to make such statements. It's definitely not appreciated at all by your customers.

samsung says they are not obligated to supply basic application functions. this statement sounds like samsung has very little regard for thier customers that py a large fee for their phones. maybe they should be obligated to not disable basic features and limit what thier customers can do

It's not fair for those who needs this feature. Samsung devices are pretty much expensive and should have all the bells and whistles.

Why Samsung is letting their customer looking for alternative solutions when they can just enable this feature ?

Not even enable.  Just not disable on purpose!  It's available from the outset in other countries' versions of the phones.
