Hi!
For some reason, the native weather application has stopped updating the location, not manually, nor automatically - just a spinning wheel that dissappears after around 15-20 sec. No error, no location update, the location icon is croseed out. All permissions are granted, I have already cleared cache and data several times, background usage of data is ON (even in saver mode), the app is not in deep sleep or whatever. Worked perfectly fine before, stopped working properly after I returned from a vacation from overseas. Sometimes it does work I assume, but most of the time, it's not.
There is no much information on the Internet either (just standard clear cache and data).
Very frustrating to have such a basic feature not working in a phone for 2000 CAD (S24 Ultra).
So many issues 😪 if compare to the perfect Note 10+. Now, I kinda regrat exchanging it.
Has anyone encountered similar issue?
Any help would be appreciated please 🙏

It sounds like it's not the app itself, but the weather provider that was/is having an issue?

Since you have done pretty much everything that I'd suggest, the only thing that I don't know if you tried was to go to Settings > Apps Search for the Weather app & Click on it & Click on Force Stop & Reboot.

But if it's the weather provider, you might just have to wait?

Samsung's weather is currently working on my S23 Ultra One UI V6.1 for my location.

Thank you for supporting the topic.
Yep, I did stop & reboot as well, but no luck.
You saying it might be a weather provider does make sense 👍 Will wait to see if it improves.
But, I also checked my friend's S24 side by side and there is no issue with that device - weather upade was quick and smooth, while mine was "loading" (spinning wheel) and updating for 15-20 seconds with still crossed out location icon.

Hi R2D42, that's sad to hear this issue from you.

Please try this and see if it helps. Select "Mobile Data" and enable both "Allow background data usage" and "Allow app while Data saver on".

Thank you.

Hi Helenna!
Thanks for the advice 👍 Those settings are and were "on" all the time.
I do think that the issue was with the service provider as RedDogRabbit suggested above because now it kinda works. There are still occasional problems with updating the information, but far less often.
