I thought the whole point of one ui is to make the os easy to use with one hand but it seems I now need two hands to use the zoom function in the camera, with oreo I could just slide the zoom button, now i need to use my fingers to zoom in. Oops someone screwed up...

On the S9+, you can slide these tree icons left and right to zoom. One hand :) 2c517367-8c0b-405d-950d-32db0dad15b1.jpg

I'm taking about the software zoom, now you have to hold the phone with one hand and use your fingers to pinch and zoom. Before you could just slide the shutter button, much easier.

Yes, if you keep sliding left or right, you'll get the zoom slider. This is on the s9+ (2 cameras), not sure if it works on s9 as well. f42bc728-19d1-4156-801e-da3173afb176.jpg

The alternative you could do is change volume button settings to zoom. Its awful that you cant swipe to zoom anymore.

yeah I also hate that I can no longer swipe to zoom. I also find the new camera layout not too great rather. so far for this update the camera is the one thing that hasn't been an improvement for me.. I love my zoom and it's uncomfortable to zoom with 2 hands! so much for ONE UI...more like TWO

Hey @SB99,

Thanks for bringing this up! This does seem like a bit of an oversight—I'll make a note of this for the devs.

Cheers,

Any follow up to this? It's honestly a pain and does NOT follow the easier one handed idea. I'm about to just abandon the stock camera app
