I have a S20, and since the update on January 27th, it now is randomly restarting upwards of 4 times a day. I have wiped the cache, but still nothing. No new apps had been added either.

Thanks for any assistance

Since you already Wiped Cache from Recovery, you can try Booting into Safe Mode & see if the issue continues. It's possible that you have a 3rd party app installed, that hasn't been updated to work with Android 12 / One UI V4.0?

If that doesn't work, then if it was my device, I'd backup with Smart Switch & Factory Reset.

It shouldn't be necessary, but I always backup & Factory Reset AFTER every Android version update, and never had any problems.

So had it in safe mode and no issues. Now is there an easy way to identify which app isn't compatible with the new android version? I can't identify any app that was installed when the issues happened, or even updated around the time of the issues starting

If you haven't already, make sure that all your user installed apps are the latest version.

Then go to Settings > Developer Options (If you haven't already enabled it > Go to Settings > About Phone > Software Information & click on the Build Number 7 times to enable Dev Options).

With Developer Options enabled Search for "Running Services" & Uninstall any recently installed apps (Yeah I know it's a pain), until your device stops having the issue.

But again, if it was my device, I'd backup & Factory Reset.

Okay great, so after in safe mode, please give a better explanation on how to track which apps are promoting restarts. What in the world is the point of checking with safe mode if you can't see exactly what apps are causing the problem?

I am on S20+ via Verizon and following last week's system update #27, it restarts itself every night while I'm sleeping. Auto Restart has never been turned on. So annoying. Waking up to notifications is a highlight of everyone's day, and thanks to these restarts, all my morning notifications are obviously always wiped.

K - You should be contacting Samsung Members US, as your Carrier is Verizon in the US. This is Samsung Members Canada.

But you can start trying to find the app(s) causing the problem by Uninstalling the most recently installed apps. No it's not ideal, but it's the only way to really find the problem app(s).

Just make sure you updated all your downloaded user apps to make sure that it wasn't just an outdated version.

Yeah I started having this issue too and it just randomly does a quick restart recently. And I don't know which app it is as I have 100s of apps downloaded
