Got a new exchange s24 ultra from samsung since the last phone had motherboard issues and now the new phone barely survives half a day the screen on time is just 4 hrs from 100% to 20%. It's been a week , I will use the device for 1 more week and update. Mind you I haven't played any demanding games , I have just used YouTube, Instagram and some web browsing.

Hi Nidhin07,

It's understandable to feel concerned about the battery life on your replacement Galaxy S24 Ultra, especially when you're using it for relatively light tasks.

During the first week of use, the device may perform a lot of background syncing (e.g., restoring apps, downloading updates, or indexing files), which could temporarily drain the battery faster.

If apps like YouTube or Instagram are running excessive background tasks: Go to Settings > Apps > [App Name] > Battery > Restricted to prevent them from draining battery when not in use.

Thank you.

I have done everything that you told even before posting this and I have put several of vaguely used apps to deep sleep, put battery to adaptive mode so it learns my usage patterns ans installed no games as it may drain battery quickly ( even though samsung claims S24 ultra to be a gamers device too). I have put the device on safe mode also but it only extends the battery life to 1.5hr more. This is why I am waiting for 1 more week for the device to optimize everything.

It doesn't take a week to optimize anything.. certainly not 2 weeks.

It should really only take

3 or 4 Charging cycles for the Battery to have sorted out.

Wiping Cache or a Factory Reset should resolve the issue for you..

Based on your stats, it looks like you'd get about 8 hours of screen on time off of a full charge. Not really that bad.

I find that turning down the screen brightness as much as possible will help a lot with battery life.

The device says i will get about 15hrs on a full charge, but battery Drains so quickly I could see the numbers dropping, since last charge I've only used Instagram and YouTube and I've already lost 36%. 6 hours is bare minimum for light usage.

It's not unusual, to see a range in the amount of Screen On Time, and variance in total time on the battery.

Here's just over 21 hours since unplugged, and almost 9 hours remaining, with around 4 hours & 45 minutes of SOT.

The second set of screen shots, show shorter SOT and less time on the battery, with almost the same amount of time left on the battery..

The settings (brightness etc) on my S23 Ultra were identical, but it comes down to how the device was being used.

My usage is light no battery demanding apps , just YouTube , Instagram and WhatsApp and occasional emails, i used to play several games on the previous s24 ultra but it gave me nearly 6.5 hours even after heavy gaming and continous usage. I have to charge my phone 2 times a day that's my concern.
