It's actually possible. But you need Good Lock to accomplish it.

You need to download Good Lock and install the MultiStar plugin. Enable Multi window without pausing. Open music player and camera in split screen view. Start the recording first and then play the music you want. They will work simultaneously. But as mentioned, the music will be prevalent in the video.

Interesting, I can do it on my Note 8, so shouldn't be an issue on the S9.

Only thing is you need to start the recording first before playing the music. If you play music first and then record, it will stop music playback.

Also switching between portrait/landscape, will stop the recording... this is with split screen open. I have not tried with a resized multiwindow.
