So, I can't navigate the home screen on my Samsung Galaxy S8. When I press the Home button to go to the Home screen, it gets stuck on the wallpaper and then after that, it says "One UI Home isn't responding". What could that be?

Hi EC1, please try the below steps and check for the issue:

Go to settings > apps > then click on three dot menu. Now tap on show system app and find out One UI home > click storage and click on clear data..

Now tap ok and restart your phone. Hopefully, this method solve one UI home keeps stopping problem on your device.

Thank you.

What if you can't access any app or settings on the phone?

I use Samsung Galaxy M51 and had a similar problem.

For may months my phone had this symptoms -

  • laggy UI
  • Launcher will stop working and throw an error
  • Screen Unlock and Fingerprint will either won't respond properly or lag

None of this worked

  • I tried restarting the phone
  • Clearing cache of UI
  • completely factory reset the phone

I was about to give up on my phone and was sad about it and thought it was a hardware degradation. Then finally one fine day I found the root cause and fixed it.

This worked for me

  • Change the launcher of your Phone

The launcher is buggy and there is nothing you can do to fix the Launcher so change the launcher. In my case, I used Lawnchair Launcher. This solved my problem.
