This happens often enough to be mildly annoying.
Just now I'm sending a text using the native texting app on to have a word capitalized.
"We still need Ground pork" (I didn't capitalize ground in my example, the keyboard did for me)
It's seemingly random. Any known fix for this?
Thanks

If you're using Samsung's Messaging app, then switch to Google's Messages app.

Samsung's Moderators are giving the impression that Samsung is dropping Samsung Messages in favour of Google's Messaging app.

If your device does not have Google Messages, just download it from the Play Store. When you open it, you will be asked to make it the default Messaging app.

I'm not sure if your issue is from the Messaging app or if it is a keyboard issue in your case?

Anyway, try Google Messages & see if it resolves your issue.

Definately a keyboard issue.

  • I purposely switched to samsung from google because the google app, which I like better, was duplicating every text I had.

Sounds more like a keyboard issue than a Messaging app issue 🤔

Thank you RedDogRabbit.

Hi, We suggest you to use Google Messages instead of preloaded Samsung Messages App.

Please download Google Messages from Google Play store >> set as default messaging app and verify if it will fix the issue.

Well, given that it happened while typing this message, I think it's a keyboard issue. Not the messages app.
I'm going to use gboard and see if that doesn't fix the issue.
Thanks for the suggestions.

You should still probably switch to Google's Messages regardless.

A number of people have already posted regarding issues with Samsung's Messaging app.

If you haven't tried SwiftKey keyboard, you may want to give it a try. I've been using it for years & wouldn't ever switch.
