I looked on this forum to see if this was addressed because it was driving me crazy. Most of my badge counts on Stock launcher seem to work except on Facebook. This tip that I stole from another discussion group fixed it for me. Passing it along incase it helps anyone else.
Settings -> apps -> 3 dots upper right -> special access-> notification access -> OFF Samsung experience home.
