S20 no sim but won't connect to wifi or hotspot

Long story short my s20 doesn't have a SIM card or a carrier plan at all It's an older phone that was being used for Wi-Fi. The screen broke and upon going to store it away the screen suddenly decided to work again but now I can't get it to connect to any hotspot or Wi-Fi. I can't update the software because there's no internet connection and I can't place my SIM card into that phone to do a software update because I use an ESIM. How do I get my s20 to connect back to Wi-Fi and hotspot again?

Check the time settings.. girlfriend had similar issue and was the time being too far off. Modern quality routers look at that too.

Have you tried to go to Settings & Search for "Reset" and Reset the Network Settings?

If it still doesn't work, you can see if a Factory Reset will work, but after you Factory Reset, you will HAVE to get a WiFi connection to continue. 

I don't have a SIM in my S20 Ultra, so it's not a device issue.

When you say that the screen "broke", was that the result of a drop, or it just stopped working?

Yes I have tried resetting the network settings so I will do a factory reset on it and see if that helps. I believe it doesn't need an update cuz it's still running one UI version 5.1. and yes it was a result of a drop there's a nice little black splotch on the screen now

Hi Atsirt,

As said by RedDogRabbit have you tried to perform Reset Network settings? If they do not work, you may bring your device back to the factory default settings and see it the Wi-Fi and hotspot working again.
